This post office is always a joke. I waited in line to drop off a package and then needed to pick up a lost package. I was told to find the tracking number and get back in line behind 6 other people with my busy 2 yr old. I finally get to the front of the line with my tracking number only to find out that he is the only person working and he can't help me. I waited over 30 minutes in line for nothing after he TOLD me to get back in line. No apologies or anything. I recommend finding another location.
Our substitute mail man folded a documents that said do NOT fold. Also he ignored our requests and put a box too big to go in the mailbox in the mailbox. We don't usually have these problems only when our SUBSTITUTE mailman delivers our mail.
I personally have never had anything but efficient and polite service in the 7+ years of living in this area. I've never had any crazy issues from my end, though, and have always had my packages/mail 100% ready to go by the time I even get there. Yes, Mike can be a little silly with his banter but that's okay by me. Omar may not say a whole lot, but that's okay too. Neither of them have been rude once, not that I have seen.
Guy behind the counter named Mike is an absolute jerk. Kept looking at his watch as if I was inconveniencing him, yet he had plenty of time to post what I brought to the counter. Then, when I asked him about the hours for Saturday, he let me know I had to get there by a certain time because it was busy. Obviously… what he meant was, he's too busy. Apparently, I interfered with his plans for a casual closing. I actually expected him to work up until 10 minutes before closing time. God forbid! He is jovial & comical with the locals, but when he saw that I was from Alabama, he treated me like I had the plague. Other employees might be much better, but this obnoxious individual made my experience extremely difficult. I only wish I could grade him lower. Biggest pinhead I've ever dealt with at a post office… and that is saying a lot.
I have been living in Swansboro now for a little over 18 months and i have never had anything but positive experiences with this post office. I think the reason people are upset with this location is that the employees get straight to the point and are very direct with answers to questions. When i had a pretty complicated problem, the manager took me to his office and went WAY out of his way to help me resolve my issue towards the end of the business day and on a Friday to boot. Thank you Swansboro USPS!
