I love this place!! They always get us in quickly and most important the drs listen... my husband had been feeling "off" for a couple of years and out of 8 doctors in 2 different states know body could figure it out until Dr Chavez!! My husband is now being treated for a brain tumor and I owe his life to Dr Chavez!! And Kelly the PA is just amazing with the kids!! I now live 25 miles away but continue to go to them!!
We love our pediatrician but unfortunately it's not enough to keep us going back. The staff are rude and very un- accommodating! I have been turned away on several occasions due to poor staffing of the doctors and the advice I got was " well you'll just have to take your child to the ER" I shouldn't have to that's why I have pediatrician! When I can actually get an appt I have to wait an hour plus. Enough is enough I will never return to the swansboro location!
Went to the clinic twice, it was listed as in network with my insurance company. While I have no complaints with the doctor I was seen by, I am not happy with the experience. The first visit was fine, but I was not informed that I would be charged for any lab testing. The front desk also would not take my insurance card to run it because it didn't have prices listed on it, regardless of being in network (which I confirmed with the insurance company). I was told to expect a bill in the mail. I went in as a follow up to view the test results, Dr Chavez informed me that I would need additional tests because one of the numbers from the first set of tests could have been an issue. That visit was on Jan 17th, and I have yet to hear about any results on the 2nd set of tests that I got the bill for (2 months later).
Left on hold for 30 mins do to how busy they were... get here 30 min later aftet finally getting to make the appointment and they're not doing anything but talking. Unprofessional front desk
Aside from the silence and frustration over the lab work, trying to pay the bill has been an ordeal. Despite having confirmation of the payment for both visits being sent out on the same day, but it appears that the larger of the two checks has vanished. After receiving a 3rd repeat bill in the mail, I tried to contact the office. When I called the automated number about payments, the person on the other end took my response of "I have already paid this" as "I am not paying this" and began explaining how a co-pay & deductible works... I've sent in a copy of the confirmation of payment on my end. Now I have to wait for HR to investigate and figure out the situation.
Once this situation gets resolved (if it does...), I hope to never deal with them in the future. This is not how a successful and reputable business is run. The whole experience has been a complete waste of time and money. I will never go to this clinic again and would advise others to avoid it as well.
I wouldn't even give them a 1 star, but it's the only option. They price gouge like I have never even seen, but this is America and you can charge whatever you want for 15 minutes of patient care. My visit consisted of waiting with my son in only a diaper for 20 minutes waiting for the Nurse Practioner to finish her fishing story outside of the door. When she was done chatting, she came in, measured, weighed, and gave my son his shots. This was in October and I am still being sent bills. This visit should be covered by my insurance, (as it is a preventative and it is mandated by the ACA) but my insurance has been back and forth with the clinic for 10 months over prices. Don't even bother; save yourself the trouble and drive 20 miles to Morehead City or Jacksonville.
