Make sure you know what you're looking for and I would suggest getting a mechanic to go with or check out your prospective vehicle. Good deal, but the truck I purchased had mechanical issues
Bought a used truck, 2005 Dodge Dakota, from these guys a few months back. It had some squealing in the rear and the salesman was adamant that all Dodge-Chrysler products have a squeal in the rear-end. They even phoned up Battlefield Tire, or so they say, and had me speak to a mechanic who reassured me that the squeal was normal in a vehicle that old. A month or so after buying it, I had a mechanic actually look at it and I was told it was because the shocks were completely shot in the truck and in no way is squealing "normal" in a truck. I understand I was buying a used car. However, as a member of the community and a small business owner, I do not expect to be lied to in order to make a quick $5,000 sale. Had the salesman just been honest and told me that the shocks were shot and it was my responsibility, I would have been okay with that. I am not a mechanic and trusted that they, and the mechanic they had me speak to, were being ethical and above board. I will never again do business with Coastal Auto Market nor recommend their business to anyone else. Unethical business practices lead to a bad reviews which hopefully will lead to them improving the way they treat their customers. I cannot in good conscience recommend this car dealer to anyone.
Jeremy Howell misrepresented the purchase. He was well informed that the Dakota had a rear end whine from the bearings and that was common with those year Dodge and Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee model vehicles and was greatly discounted to compensate for any future problems. This is very common and known by most major mechanics. All customers are giving the opportunity to have any vehicle checked out by their or any mechanic before purchase. The retail price was $7675.00 and sold for $4995.00. Our mechanic tries to inform us of any potential problems, but occasionally misses something, but this customer was made well aware of the problem and priced accordingly.
Wasn't Impressed. Old used, beat up cars, with high miles. Not what I was looking for.
